Testing
This phase of the Implementation Life Cycle involves the application testing with reference to the test cases prepared. The output of the test cases is recorded in the form of test reports. The documents prepared with this phase are Test Plan and Test Cases.
Test Plan
The Test Plan document describes the scope, approach, resources and the schedule of the intended testing activities. It identifies the test items, the features to be tested, the testing tasks, who will do each task and any risks requiring contingency planning.
Test Cases
The Test Cases document specifies inputs, predicted results and a set of execution conditions for a test item. The set of test inputs, execution conditions and expected results developed for a particular objective, such as to exercise a particular program path or to verify compliance with a specific requirement.
QA Release
The output of the testing process will be in the form of bug reports. The application will be handed over to Testing in an iterative fashion till the functionality is completely tested. Once testing is complete, the product is fit to release with a QA Release note.
